Original replacement catalytic sensor engineered for continuous detection and monitoring of combustible and explosive gases, specifically Propane (R290), within the GK-TOOLS FlashGuard EX portable detector.
With the transition toward environmentally friendly natural refrigerants (A3 / hydrocarbons), the adoption of propane (R290) is rapidly expanding across refrigerated display cases, heat pumps, and commercial systems. The sensor operates by measuring gas concentration as a percentage of the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL, 2.2% vol for R290).
Catalytic combustion sensors may experience drift over time or degradation due to prolonged exposure to high gas concentrations or catalytic poisons. Periodic replacement with an original component restores instrument response time, measurement accuracy, and operator safety.

Installation and Maintenance Notes
Technical warning: Maintenance and component replacement must be carried out by trained technicians in accordance with applicable safety regulations. Avoid contact with silicone compounds or airborne poisons that can permanently deactivate catalytic beads. Following sensor replacement, perform zero calibration in clean air followed by span calibration using appropriate calibration gas at the specified flow rate (200–500 ml/min) before field deployment.
