The shut-off is a service valve for the charging hoses, which allows the contractor to carry out the connection to the service port of the external A/C unit (condenser) without causing leaks of refrigerant gas and oil during the coupling and release operation.
Thanks to this valve, in other words, leaks of refrigerant gas during maintenance operations on the external unit are avoided.
