GK-Lab Kryon ZincMate One-Component Protective Zinc Spray 400 ml
Do you need to buy large quantities?
Kryon ZincMate by GK-Lab is a light-coloured, high molecular weight, one-component zinc spray for professional use. It protects metal parts exposed to weathering and to the most aggressive industrial atmospheres from corrosion.
Where to use it
- After welding: the heat of welding burns off the zinc layer on galvanised sheet metal and pipes, leaving the metal bare. By applying ZincMate straight afterwards, you restore the protective barrier and prevent the joints from rusting in a short time.
- In HVAC systems: air ducts, brackets, supports, outdoor condensers and pipework are exposed to temperature swings, humidity, condensation and weathering. ZincMate protects joints, sheet metal cut edges and bolts from corrosion accelerated by condensate water.
How to use
- If you have just welded, wait until the metal has cooled down completely.
- Use a wire brush or sandpaper to remove slag, flux residue, rust and mill scale. The zinc must work on bare metal.
- Degrease with a solvent, such as acetone. The surface must be clean and dry.
- Shake the can vigorously for at least 30 seconds.
- Spray from 20-25 cm in cross passes. Two thin coats a few minutes apart are better than a single thick one.
- When you have finished, turn the can upside down and spray for a couple of seconds until only gas comes out. This keeps the nozzle from clogging.
